New Hampshire

After spending two nights at Meg's house, we were a little reluctant to get back on the trail. We had a great time... showers, laundry, a comfortable bed, and good company. We hiked out of town a little too late and got caught in a storm, thus cutting our would be 17 mile day a bit short ( i.e. the first available shelter). It has cleared up, leaving me cold and wet inside my sleeping bag, too tired for a second attempt. Four more days until Jon and I's Anniversary we are hoping to make it to North Woodstock for a relaxing hotel room. After our day off, we plan on beginning our ascent into the white mountains and later, the presidential range. We hope all is well at home, and we love and miss you all.
PS. Don't expect a blog August 4th.

Love,
Stomp and Shuffles

I would hope that you have more IMPORTANT things to do on your anniversary than blogging to us, although we eagerly look forward to your notes. Stay warm and dry, if possible, and have a great hike. See you at the end. Did you enjoy Hunter's little gift??? Love, mom

We received your box today and Hunter was delighted. He worked very hard trying to open it. I believe he thinks that you guys will be in it. He is having fun with Jade, but misses you, as we all do. Be safe and we will see you at the end. Love always, mom

USE CAUTION FOR THE REST OF YOUR JOURNEY!!!!! According to CNN today 8/15/08 hunters somewhere in Gerogia have shot and killed what they believe is "BIGFOOT". Be advised there is conclusive evidence (photo and DNA.. for what that is worth) proving this creature still roams the Earth. So for all you foot travelers out there be aware! Use caution when sleeping, eating, bathing, walking, standing, sitting, and at all times make sure you look over your shoulder. Best of luck and watch your backs these last few weeks. Don't believe me. Check out CNN.com You know they would not say it on the news if it was not true.... yea right

You're in Maine now!

Thanks for a great four days of backpacking. It was tough but fun. An unforgettable experience.

Best of luck on the remaining 200-some miles of your journey... Beware of moose!
